Hi every one,
I haven't been on for a while and hope you are all well? I have a few questions if you can help please, I was due to go into hospital next Monday to have my toes straightened but its been cancelled, so as I have organised work ( I am self employed) I thought I would go on holiday instead! I take methotrexate Sulfasalazine Hydroxloroquine, Naproxin and I have just started the entanercept injections I have read before on here some of you have taken them on a plane but what documentation do you need and what if they want allow the ice packs for the cool bags on the flight? how long is it ok to have it out of the fridge AND what else should I be asking???
I am now been booked in 3 weeks time for the op so its all very last thing and if we are going to go, its got to be soon.Confused
Thanks
Rosemaryxxxx

Hi Rosemary,

I haven't travelled with injections, but do you get the enbrel from Healthcare at Home? If you do, give them a ring and they will explain what you need to do and I'm not sure but I think they can give you a covering letter explaining why you need to travel with the drugs.
If you don't deal with them, I'm sure someone on here will be able to tell you more.
Hope you manage to get a good late deal!

Love, Doreen xx

Hi Rosemary,

I have travelled to South Africa with Humira and I should imagine Etranercept will be the same.

You will need a letter from your GP / Rheummy cofirming that these are your prescribed drugs. You will need to pack them in a cool box with ice blocks ... Healthcare at Home will give you plenty of advice on how best to do it. You won't have any trouble at the airport. Nobody even asked for my paperwork or wanted to look in my coolbag.

Have a good time!!!

Joanna
